The Environment and our Responsibility
Energy Policy
As a company and as a team of people, we are committed to:
- Purchasing energy at the most cost effective prices
- Purchasing a proportion of our energy from renewable sources
- Increasing the amount of recycled products that we buy
- Reducing the amount of energy we consume
- Reducing the amount of CO2 emissions we produce
- Investing in energy-saving technology where this meets our investment criteria (including renewable energy sources)
- Reducing environmental emissions associated with travel (including our colleagues travel to work, business travel and distribution of goods)
- Encouraging our suppliers to pursue continual reductions in the CO2 emissions created during the production of the products we buy
We will improve energy efficiency in all areas of our business by:
- Defining energy specific roles and responsibilities throughout our entire team
- Raising our team’s awareness through on going education, training and supporting information
- Encouraging innovative and practical energy saving ideas and initiatives from everyone in our team, to benefit in our workplace and at our homes
- Establishing clear reporting procedures, for energy management
- Buying equipment with low energy ratings
- Considering life-cycle energy costs for new projects and modifications to existing equipment
- Establishing ownership of energy costs at management level
Jade are committed to a responsible approach to energy conservation. We will review progress each year and share the progress and future plans with the whole Jade team.
